About Wilburn Forge
As an avid hunter I found it difficult to find a good skinning
knife. I have always had an interest in knives. While living in Florida in
2002, I went to Cliff Parker's shop in Zepherhills FL. I was so impressed with
the picture mosaic damascus (that Cliff made), that I decided to fulfill my
longtime desire to make my own knives. Then in 2003, I attended the knifemakers
guild show in Orlando FL., where I met knifemaker Corbin Newcomb...who invited
my son and I to spend a week at his shop in MO, learning to make knives. Of
course I jumped at the offer and Corbin was very generous in teaching us how to
make demascus and forge my own blades. It was a great learning experience, and
very memorable.
Wilburn Forge is for the serious hunter/collector, designed and
created by Aaron Wilburn. At the end of 2003, my family and I moved to Redding
California, where I have my knife making shop. I have built my own air hammer
and hydraulic press, all to facilitate creating knives. I forge all my own
blades and make my own damacus and do my own leather work.
I prefer to use all natural materials. I use only the best
techniques available for heat-treating my knives. These knives are one of a
kind...they feel like a natural part of your hand. The craftsmanship is
something you will pass down from generation to generation. All knives are
numbered and certified as handmade by my signature via my card when purchased.
